Stony Stratford is a historic town located in the north west of Milton Keynes, the town its self has existed for hundreds of years and has one of the roman road running through it (Watling Street), in more recent years it has turned into a vibrant and thriving market town with a lot to offer to specialist shops in a traditional environment.

Not only does Stony Stratford High Street offer the more traditional places to shop like the butchers and bakers, but you can also find a number of modern shops like the Cycle King bike shop and for keen walkers 'the outdoor shop'. Stony Stratford has been describes as ‘The Jewel of Milton Keynes’ by one of the city’s local historians and this history of the town can still be seen today, especially as amoungst all the shops, the beautiful church stands prominent.

Stony Stratford High Street is home to more than 50 shops, hotels and pubs all of which are located down the main high street, the town is most famous for both the Cock and Bull hotels which have been in existence since the Anglo Saxon era as is where the term Cock and Bull came from as travellers use to go into the Cock hotel and tell a story from there travels then it would get told again in the Bull pub and the story would be totally different.

The main advantage of Stony Stratford is that unlike the central shopping district of Milton Keynes, it offers more traditional shops and still aims to maintain itself as an old market town high street where visitors can purchase a wide variety of products from small businesses include the butchers, bakers and candle stick makers.
